Delete your account & data

You can delete your StarryTime account — and the data connected to it — whenever you like. There are two ways.
Option 1: In the app (fastest)
- Open StarryTime and go to the Grown-ups tab.
- Choose Delete account in the Account section.
- Confirm your choice. You'll also be asked whether to keep or remove the story library stored on your device — keeping it is the default, so your family's favourite stories aren't lost by accident.
Deletion takes effect immediately and you are signed out at the end.
Option 2: By email
If you can't access the app (lost device, uninstalled, can't sign in), email support@starrytime.app with the subject "StarryTime account deletion request" from the email address linked to your account. We'll verify it's really you and complete the deletion, normally within 30 days, and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in identity (email address).
- Your user record, including plan and usage counters.
- Your story job records.
- Any of your generated audio still in cloud storage.
What may be retained
- Purchase and billing-integrity records connected to past subscription transactions, retained as required for fraud prevention and financial compliance (your Google Play purchase history itself is governed by Google Play).
- Story reports already under review, retained until resolved.
- Crash reports already collected, which expire on their standard schedule (90 days) and are not tied to your story content.
The on-device story library is yours: it is only removed if you choose to remove it during in-app deletion, or when you uninstall the app.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — subscriptions are managed by Google Play. To cancel, open Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → StarryTime, or cancel from inside the app before deleting your account.
