Delete your account & data

You can delete your StarryTime account — and the data connected to it — whenever you like. There are two ways.

Option 1: In the app (fastest)

1. Open StarryTime and go to the Grown-ups tab.
2. Choose Delete account in the Account section.
3. Confirm your choice. You'll also be asked whether to keep or remove the story library stored on your device — keeping it is the default, so your family's favourite stories aren't lost by accident.

Deletion takes effect immediately and you are signed out at the end.

Option 2: By email

If you can't access the app (lost device, uninstalled, can't sign in), email support@starrytime.app with the subject "StarryTime account deletion request" from the email address linked to your account. We'll verify it's really you and complete the deletion, normally within 30 days, and confirm by reply.

What gets deleted

• Your account and sign-in identity (email address).
• Your user record, including plan and usage counters.
• Your story job records.
• Any of your generated audio still in cloud storage.

What may be retained

• Purchase and billing-integrity records connected to past subscription transactions, retained as required for fraud prevention and financial compliance (your Google Play purchase history itself is governed by Google Play).
• Story reports already under review, retained until resolved — at which point the story text, your note and the link to your account are erased, and the record is deleted 30 days later. Any report is deleted after 180 days, reviewed or not.
• Crash reports already collected, which expire on their standard schedule (90 days) and are not tied to your story content.
• Anonymous usage statistics, if you had switched them on. Deleting your account switches them off and resets the analytics identifier on your device. The anonymous events Google already holds carry no name, email or story content and expire on Google Analytics' 2-month schedule.
• A deleted-account marker — a record holding only your account's internal ID and the deletion date, with no name, email or story content attached. It is what stops a late Google Play subscription notification, or a sign-in token still cached on an old device, from re-creating the account you just deleted. See the privacy policy for the detail.

The on-device story library is yours: it is only removed if you choose to remove it during in-app deletion, or when you uninstall the app.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — subscriptions are managed by Google Play. To cancel, open Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → StarryTime, or cancel from inside the app before deleting your account.
